"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12 (NIV)
God Has a Plan for Your Life
God has a plan for us, and it is not to live miserable and defeated lives. It is to live a life of abundance with the peace and joy that God provides (John 10:7-10). But this doesn't happen until we individually experience God's Plan of Salvation, and we establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in our life.
The Plan of Salvation
There are six simple steps to take in creating a relationship with Jesus Christ:
- Know that God loves you (John 3:16) with an everlasting love that is beyond anything you can imagine. God gave his only Son to become a man and be crucified for us; to take on our sins for us.
- Admit that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23). Sin is unbelief, rebellion against God, and all unrighteousness. We are all born as sinful creatures, and we have all sinned against God through word and deed.
- Understand that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). You are spiritually dead in sin until you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, becoming spiritually alive in Him.
- Believe that Christ died for you (Romans 5:6). Jesus, who knew no sin, was made sin on our behalf, and died on the cross so that we might appear righteous in God's eyes (2 Corinthians 5:21).
- Put your faith in God; trust His Plan of Salvation; believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved (Acts 16:30-31). Christ died for us; he was buried, and he rose again in a physical form!
- Accept His promise by faith and sincerely pray a prayer such as this:
"Lord Jesus, I know that you love me because you died on the cross bearing my sins. Thank you, Lord, for revealing to me my lost, sinful condition. I confess that I am a sinner, spiritually dead in sin. I cannot save myself so it is by faith that I gladly accept you as my personal Savior. Thank you for your eternal salvation. Amen."
If you have just made such a personal decision, we would like to know about it by telephone or by email. We also encourage you to find a loving and supportive Church near your home that will help and encourage you in your new Christian life.
