Sunday School Classes

About our Sunday School program for the younger children in our congregation:

Separate Classes:
  • 4 years old through Kindergarten
  • 1st and 2nd Graders
  • 3rd through 5th Graders
Music Program:
  • Learning to Praise God
  • Sharing in the Worship Service
  • Fellowship and Prayer Time
Monthly Celebrations:
  • Combined Bible Lessons
  • Shared Craft Projects
  • Games and Fun Together

The Sunday School children are also involved in service projects, such as a garden, from which fruits and vegetables were donated to the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. They have also collected items for the Food Bank, the Charis House, the YWCA Women's Shelter and other groups. And they have raised money for a Heifer project and a Goat project, both of which were in support of our missionaries in Kenya.

Children's Program

Children's Christian Education Programs

   We have several programs for the younger members of our congregation. Sunday School classes for children from two years of age through High School meet every Sunday at 11:00 AM with Bible-centered curriculum, crafts, and music. A professional staffed nursery is available for those under two years of age. We provide Vacation Bible School each summer in July, and a Youth Club (LOGOS) program that meets each Wednesday during the school year.
 

Children in Worship

Following the Children's Message time with the Pastor in our Worship Services, the children are invited to leave the sanctuary to worship God in a manner consistent with their age and development. This program is for children ages 3 through Grade 5.

 

Youth Club LOGOS Program

  Each Wednesday, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, our Youth Club (LOGOS) meets at the Church. Like Vacation Bible School every week, it's a time of games, crafts, food, music, worship, and Christian learning that children and youth enjoy. Registration is required. Vacation Bible School---July 25 to 29, 2011

  Vacation Bible School was July 25 to 29 this year at Christ's Community. Our theme was "Hometown Nazareth---When Jesus Was a Kid".   We had a great time together, expecting and experiencing God doing great things.  Thrity-three children and thrity-one staff participated in VBS!  Our Missions Project for the Solomon Islands raised $195 which was used to send backpacks made by participants and Pidgin Bibles for distirbution by missionaries.   Brian Secor, the 2011VBS director, can be contacted by email  or by phone 672-8695, to answer any questions you may have.

Youth Club LOGOS Program

Developing genuine, lasting relationships between young people and Jesus Christ, between young people and their peers, pastor, parents, and other adults of our congregation.

The LOGOS Program offers all the positive aspects of a "youth retreat" on a weekly basis, providing well-rounded Christian nurture for the children and youth of our Church. There are four essential elements to the program, which combine to create a structure in which the theology and practice of Christian relationships can occur. The four parts are: Bible Study, Worship Arts, Recreation Time and Family Time.

Bible Study is at the heart of the program, designed to be creative, relevant and highly interactive. The Worship Arts segment develops worship skills and teaches active participation. Recreation Time provides healthy fun at the expense of no one else. Family Time allows all to experience being part of the family of God. Dinner is served family-style with "table parents," who encourage proper table manners and courtesy, giving everyone the opportunity to serve and clean up.
