Christian Education Program
We believe Christian Education is a valuable and important part of living for Jesus Christ in the world. We don’t think any of us ever reach the point where we can’t learn something new about God, our Savior, the Church or the Bible.
During 2011, the Christian Education Task Force developed Overall Objectives and Expectationsd for Christian Education. The six page document lays our our goals for cognitive, emotive and behavioral learning for all ages. The document is available by contacting Brian Secor by clicking here. The Task Force stated ....
Our Christian Education Purpose: The purpose of Christian Education is to teach the Gospel and the truth of God so that individuals and the Church live out the Christian faith in daily life until the Lord calls them home to heaven.
Our Prime Objective: To know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.
To accomplish this, we offer---
- Sunday School classes from age 4 through adult each Sunday at 11 am.
- A professionally staffed nursery is available for children under age 4 during Worship and Sunday School.
- Children’s Worship weekly.
- A Women’s Bible Study that meets the second and fourth Tuesday at the church building.
If you’re looking to grow in the faith and in knowledge and love for Jesus Christ, join us! You’ll be glad you did!
If you have questions, please call Brian Secor, Christian Education Team Leader, at 672-8695 or email him by clicking here.
Sunday School Classes
Children's Classes
There are two Sunday School classes for the younger children in our congregation (see our Children's Program page for more information). We have classes for:

- 4 years old through First Grade
- 2nd through 5th Graders
High School Classes
The High School and Middle School youth meet for Sunday School in their own decorated room, complete with refrigerator, TV and VCR, computer, and a Ping-Pong table. You'll find more information about our Youth Program on the Youth Activities page.
Adult Classes
There are those who tell us our God has changed over time. In the beginning, he was wrathful, particularly after he created everything. But, over time, he became more merciful to where in the New Testament, his wrath has completely disappeared. Such a view is contrary to the unity of the Scriptures which portray God as he is from beginning to end. He is the same God in the Old Testament as he is in the New. Because he does not change, we can trust him to be God as he is forever. Our May Adult classes continue to assist us in seeing God as he is, not as someone has imagined him to be, and growing in love and appreciation for him.
The exodus from Egypt is the Old Testament’s big event. The Holy Spirit through our brother Paul tells us that all the things that have been written in the past about God’s working with people have been written for our spiritual and personal benefit (I Corinthians 10:1-13) Brian Secor and Cecil Henn are helping us see through Exodus the relevance of the past in the present! Topics in May are:
May 6 Breaking the Covenant Exodus 32:1-33:23
May 13 Restoring the Covenant Exodus 34:1-36:7
May 20 The Tabernacle of the Lord Exodus 25:1-31:18; 36:8-39:42
(Plans call for erecting a full size schematic of the tabernacle on the church lawn.)
May 27 The Glory of the Lord Exodus 40:1-38
The Knowing God Class, using J. I. Packer’s classic of the same name, meets in the Fellowship Hall under the leadership of Jack Heller and Lloyd Porter. This study has been very helpful in discovering and understanding the nature of our God and his place in our lives and world.
May 6 - Ch 20: Thou Our Guide
May 13 - Ch 21: These Inward Trials
May 20 - Ch 22, Part I: The Adequacy of God
May 27 - Ch 22, Part II: The Adequacy of God
A third class is the Pastor’s Class that meets in the Pastor’s Study. There you will find Pastor Dale Matthews ready to talk with you about the sermon or other matters you would like to discuss.
Children Church Programs
Each Sunday, following the Children's Message time with the Pastor in our Service, children (ages 4 through 5th grade) are invited to leave the sanctuary to worship God in a manner consistent with their age and development.
Youth Club Program
A Youth Club (LOGOS) program for children and youth is held each Wednesday (during the school year) from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This is like "going to camp" or having a little Vacation Bible School with games, crafts, food, music, worship, and Christian learning that kids enjoy. To learn more, access the Youth Club LOGOS Program page.
