Women at Work in the Church

The sewing dates for September will be Thursdays Sept 1 and 15. Come and have fun - bring a project or do some of the projects we have ongoing athe church.

We have had a very busy, but rewarding summer season with many showers. We welcome all of the new babies and marriages.

We always welcome the donations for LOVE, Inc. in the way of heath care items. Keep them coming! we will soon be making a delivery to LOVE's Huntington warehouse.

DONATIONS of Tickets or Gift Certificates for ARTISTRY 2011 SILENT AUCTION

Although a "ticket" of "gift card" does not sound very artsy or take effort to create, both can be VERY valuable and sought after items at a silent auction. The Artistry 2011 Silent Auction team is looking for donations of tickets to local or state sporting, musical or drama events that could be part of the October silent auction. This could include Komets Hockey tickets, IU or Purdue game tickets, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Civic theater, etc.

In addition, donations of gift certificates or gift cards for restaurants, gas, groceries, or ANYTHING would also be great. We are hoping to put together gift baskets featuring various itmes that would be useful to a variety of people.

Art…istry 2011 !!!

What exactly is Art….istry 2011??

“Art…istry 2011” is a silent auction sponsored by the Women’s Ministry team of
Christ’s Community Church featuring handmade items and services created and
donated by church members, friends, and local businesses. We call it “Art….istry”
because it is an event where Art…ful items will be auctioned to benefit Christ’s
Community Church’s Women’s Min...istry projects.

When is it and how does it work?

Saturday, October 15th from 2-4 pm.

and enjoy refreshments while you keep an eye on your favorite items. Each
item will have a small minimum bid with bidding increments. Bidding will close
at 3:45 pm, and high bidders will be able to take their items home immediately.
Preliminary bidding will begin on Sunday, October 9th after church services.

What kinds of items will be up for bid?

Many unique and one of a kind items: a beautiful and exquisitely hand crafted
natural oak child’s rocking chair featuring perfectly dovetailed joints and soft
vinyl seat and back; several stunningly beautiful handmade quilts, handmade
jewelry, colorful children’s clothing featuring absolutely beautiful girls dresses and
outfits, cute and fun clothing ensembles to fit 18” dolls, hand created wooden
serving dishes, hand spun, dyed, and knitted children’s and adults hats, children’s
sweaters, specialty fabric boxes, gift baskets featuring homemade jams and
jellies, home decorating items, cross stitch wall hangings, specialty foods like
homemade caramel corn, and a huge variety of other fantastic items. There is
something for everyone!
