"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men."
1 Corinthians 12:4 (NIV)
Special Interest Group Activities
Many different interests are represented in our congregation, ranging from teaching, to enabling fellowship, to providing emotional support, to sharing a gift of music, to providing a helping hand for anyone who needs it. Here's some current interests:
Building Believers
Several Bible study groups meet in member homes the third Sunday night of each month, 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The program is called "Building Believers". Child care can be arranged (for a fee) if needed. To become part of these Bible Study small groups, or to receive additional information about the current program, please contact the Church Office.
Youth Club (LOGOS)
Our Youth Club (LOGOS program) meets every Wednesday throughout the school year, 5:00 PM to 7:45 PM. It's like "going to camp" or Vacation Bible School every week; a time of games, crafts, food, music, worship, and Christian learning that kids enjoy. For more information, order a LOGOS brochure from our Mail Requests page, see our Youth Club LOGOS Program page, or e-mail the Church Office (links at left).
Prayer Chain
Christ's Community Church has an active prayer life, which includes a group who form a Prayer Chain. They are always available to pray for encouragement and that God's presence and leading might be known in any situation. If you have a prayer concern, for yourself or someone you know, please access the Share With Us page where you may send us a prayer request or tell us of any special need.
Secret Sisters
The women of our Church have an annual program called Secret Sisters. During the course a year, members of this group are surprised by the kindness and generosity of someone in the Church (their secret sister) while, at the same time, they are doing things for someone else. At the end of the year, their "secret sister" is revealed.
Music Interests
We are blessed with talented musicians who share their gifts of music in our Worship Services. This includes the Chancel Choir, Children's Choirs, the Men's Chorus and the Women's Ensemble. Several instrumentalists also provide special music throughout the year. You can hear musical offerings of past Worship Services on the Music Files page, and learn more about our choirs at the Music Ministry page.
Women's Luncheons
Once a month, the ladies of our Church meet at a local restaurant for a pleasant lunch out and a good time of Christian fellowship. It is important to be able to share with those you trust, and the Women's Luncheons provide that opportunity for many.
MAC Club
This is the Men's Arts & Crafts (MAC) Club which is the giving of time and skills for the assistance of others by the men of our Church. They are available to assist with construction projects or manual labor. Their motto: If it ain't broken, we're not done yet. Their creed: never finish a project until two more have been started. A few of their rules: never take on a project unless it requires at least two new tools, never give a completion date, and if a woman asks a question, look confused.
